Zheng Liu, Esq.

A reckless, erratic, and ultimately unfit attorney who has many problems.

Note: this is the Zheng "Andy" Liu from San Mateo/Foster City, not the other (normal) one, who works at a reputable law firm.

Update February 22, 2024: This popular article about Mr. Liu from June 2023 goes into extreme detail about his issues, and as a result I have not completed this page. I'm not sure what else needs to be said on here, because the article in the Guardian pretty much says it all.

Update: I haven't gotten around to completing this due to a lack of time to spend on it. I'm currently in litigation with Mr. Liu over his defamatory, harassing campaign on my Yelp Business page. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this, because I found an even worse licensed attorney than Mr. Liu who will soon be appearing in the Hall of Shame. I didn't think that was possible! Check back for updates. Meanwhile, this is the bullet point list of issues with Mr. Liu, updated as needed:

  1. Alleged domestic abuser accused of assault, battery, and forcible rape of a young immigrant college student in case no. 22-FAM-00119 in San Mateo County Superior Court (trial was set for August 8, 2022).
  2. Allegedly arranged for said victim to recant a statement she made to the police about the alleged rape by threatening her financially.
  3. Sued the police department in conjunction with his arrest.
  4. Sued his own victim as a Doe plaintiff in case no. 22-CIV-02319.
  5. Claimed to be unaware of the Temporary Restraining Order in the Domestic Violence case even though he filed an opposition to the DV petition.
  6. Continued contacting a represented party, in violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct and the TRO.
  7. Filed an Anti-SLAPP motion claiming that the First Amendment protects his conduct.
  8. Invited us to serve him with process at home, only for us to find a large open window with two vicious guard dogs ready to jump out of it and attack. Proof:
  9. Posted eleven inappropriate photos to my Yelp Business page, even after I stopped representing the victim. Continued re-posting the same photos numerous times over a months-long period from 2022 to 2023.
  10. Overall nutcase.
  11. Somehow still licensed as a lawyer.

That's off the top of my head in five minutes. Working on it.

Update 4/12/2023: I have been working on a comprehensive update and re-design of this web page. I ended up suing Mr. Liu in San Mateo County Superior Court for defamation and an injunction prohibiting him from posting on my Yelp page, among other relief. He defaulted and I expected to get a judgment, but then the court set aside his default. He then filed an Anti-SLAPP motion which was partially granted and partially denied. Both of us appealed.

Update 6/15/2023: lots of updates to share following today's article about Mr. Liu. I disagree that I'm eccentric, although I did formerly co-own a photography studio and was formerly a Congressional candidate in this District. Still do programming, lol. I tried to help Ms. Chen, but unfortunately Mr. Liu's litigation abuse made it too expensive for her to continue. Anyway, it's nice to see this case get some exposure. It deserves to be news for the lack of action from law enforcement against Mr. Liu, who is a reckless, dangerous, and unethical attorney who should not be practicing law.

Update 8/15/2023: interesting update, in that Mr. Liu was recently arrested and charged with criminal trespass when he refused to leave private property. I laughed out loud when I saw this one pop up on the case portal. He did pre-trial diversion in which he was banned from the victim's property and has to obey all laws for a year (lol).
